Quick & Easy Notecards with Cactus Cuties

I hope you all had a great Christmas and holidays. I love Christmas, but it is also very tiring and after I look forward to some down time after. Once the kids are entertained with all their new toys and goodies I am able to relax and play with some new goodies of my own. In December Stampin' Up! opens up the preorder period for the new mini catalog with new spring products. Once I am done with Christmas stuff I can't wait for fresh new spring, Valentines and other new products. I ordered in time to have products ready to go for my winter break.

These cards use a bundle that is a little outside of my usual choices/style- Cactus Cuties. First off, I love anything that coordinates with a punch! Secondly, I could see that this was a trendy set and that I could make some clean and simple cards with it, which I love. These are designed to be easy and quick. The notecards are a nice size, a little smaller than an A4 card that really helps with simple design. It allows for a stamped image and greeting and fits perfectly in the notecard. Take a look at the short video to see how I made them and scroll below for the recipe and products used. The Cactus Cuties stamp set will be available for purchase on January 4th. January 4th is also the first day of Sale-a-Bration! During SAB you earn free products when you buy, host or join!

My Quick & Easy Notecard with Color & Contour Stampin' Up! Bundle

I love a quick and easy card. But sometimes, I want an even quicker and easier way to add a note to someone's package, lunch, work inbox, or teacher folder. This is my basic go to when I need something nicer than a post-it note. I have seen many people make notecards similar to this. This is my take on the template.

Here is what you need:
  • one sheet of color cardstock 5.5 x 4.25
  • basic white cardstock layered at 5.25x4
  • little designer series paper (4 x 1.5)
  • stamps and coloring tools of your choice (I used 2021-2023 Stampin' Markers and the color & contour stamps)

I will be making another batch of these in holiday themes, perhaps school theme and anything else I can think of! Click on this link to see the Color & Contour stamp set on my webstore!

Coolest Card with Penguin Place Stamp Set

I have to say I almost passed up this bundle in the new holiday catalog. However 1) I love punches and that gets me almost every time and 2) there was a free pack of designer series paper that I loved that coordinated with this set.

First Christmas Card of the Year with Joyful Life Stamp Set!

There is nothing better than staying indoors on a hot day and making Christmas cards in the summer!  I know some of you think it is way to early for Christmas. I feel that way to sometimes when I go to a store at this time of the year and see Halloween items or Fall items. However, this is when Stampin' Up! releases it's holiday catalog and so naturally I want new things and have fun making new projects. I love all fall holidays, but Christmas and Thanksgiving are my favorite.

This stamp set, Joyful Life really caught my eye. I love the cheerful images and especially the little piggy with the coffee. This was first in my list to create with.

About Me & Some Summer Stamping!

Welcome to my blog! If you have never visited before, welcome! I have some fun summer ideas below. But first I thought I would share a little about me for those that are visiting my blog for the first time.

I live in beautiful Rancho Murieta CA and have 3 daughters, a 'very supportive of my hobby' husband and a new american bulldog puppy. I have been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for 13 years. At first I joined for the discount. I had a friend that was a demonstrator and she made such pretty cards and gifts. I placed one order with her and then I knew I was going to be buying many more products. So I figured, why not sign up and get a discount. Many people do that (hobby demonstrators use their membership like a Costco discount). I had no intention of doing anything else. One day for fun I did an open house with some friends and family members. I prepared some projects and had everything ready for  people to make and take. It was so much fun to gather and create. I was hooked!  I had so much fun, even my ‘not crafty’ friend loved it. Plus I had a new baby and a toddler so I really needed some fun nights out. That was the beginning of me hosting regular classes, parties and a monthly adult stamp club. Those that gather with me agree that stamping and gathering is much more than the craft. It is a fun time with laughter and is truly therapeutic.

If you are looking for ideas, crafty products, want to buy a kit, a fun class, want to book an night out with friends (right now, outdoor or zoom ;) want to join Stampin' Up!, please reach out to me. You can also view my store here: https://mayramt.stampinup.net/

Okay, now to the fun project ideas! I have been working on a couple a few kits. You can order these from now until June 20 by emailing me.

The Garden Birdhouse Kit includes the garden birdhouse stamp set, watercolor pencils, a blender pen, stazon ink and a make and take packet to make 8 cards. $48 for local pick up (add $5 for shipping). You will need your own acrylic block and adhesive.

The Color & Contour Kit includes the color & contour stamp set, In Color Markers, stazon ink and a make and take packet to make 8 cards. $50 for local pick up (add $5 for shipping).

Or to the see the Stampin' Up! line of Stamping and non-Stamping Kits, go to my webstore and click on the banner kit headline or in categories.

Or if you like surprises and the convenience of kits shipped to you,  you will love Paper Pumpkin. These are all inclusive kits for only $22 shipped. Check them out at My Paper Pumpkin webpage. For these you order by the 10th of the month (or have a continuous order that you can easily cancel or hold at anytime) and you get the kit of the month. Below is a teaser for this month's kit and below that a recent fun kit.

For the Expressions in Color, order by June 10.

The kit above was last months kit. It was a fun summer masculine themed kit. Every month they are different.

Christmas Countdown Kit and DSP Trees

This has been a fun, crafty week for me. I am off work this week which means I have time to work on decorating the house for Christmas and making Christmas projects. On the project list for this week was a Christmas Countdown Advent box. This was a Stampin' Up! Kit (#150703- $30.00) that I ordered. Since Christmas will look different this year for us, I wanted to do something to make it special. I will be adding little treats to each box and/or a fun activity card. I tried to make a video of myself making the kit, but the video did not work out! lol. Instead, here is a link to Sara Douglas, Stampin' Up! CEO making the kit.
My second project this week is DSP Trees. That is Designer Series Paper Trees. I saw an ad for cute trees like this and thought, I can make those! I had a few pieces of think boards that my husband cut out into tree shapes for me. I traced my DSP, cut and glued them all. I need a few more pieces for my console table decor, but I couldn't wait to share the idea. Here were my steps:
You can find all of these products (except the wood board) on my Stampin' Up! store at mayramt.stampinup.net .

Next on my list of projects this week is 1) taking our family Christmas card photo and 2) designing and making our Christmas Card. The hardest part is taking a good picture! I'll share that soon!

October Club Sneak Peak Projects

My favorite projects to make are fall themed projects. They are a very close second to Christmas, but I like fall a bit better. I love the change in weather, the gratitude the season brings and the warm colors. I couldn't wait to create some sneak peak projects for my October Stamp Club.

These projects feature

BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN BUNDLE (ENGLISH) 155189 $50.25                GILDED AUTUMN SPECIALTY DSP 153520 $15.00

WRAPPED IN TEXTURE EMBOSSING FOLDERS

153574 $8.00

PLAID TIDINGS 6" X 6" DS153527 $11.50

I think the combination of the embossing folders and the DSP (designer series paper) really made the cards pop.

I have a few more projects to make and then I can start making my own sets to gift. Then I can start bringing out the fall decor to go with it!
