Teacher Cards Gift Set

One thing I love to make is card gift sets and I always make them as teacher gifts.  I love and appreciate how hard my kids teachers work.  So for teacher appreciation week I like to show them my appreciation with something hand made by me ....along with a practical, and always favorite gift card!  I love hand made, but also give a sure to love item too!

So here is my teacher appreciation gift card set for this year.  I used my new favorite Gift Bag Punch Board to make the bag (size- large).  Coincidentally, it is on sale until Tuesday for $15 (regular $20)...see below for link.  I also used the SchoolHouse Designer Series Paper as my focal point and the crumb cake note cards (another favorite and easy to use pre-cut card). I did a few variations on the card fronts, which do you like better?!

Hello Everyone,

 

Here is one of the Make & Takes we made during Convention.  I was really excited about this project because I love card sets....and love to give card sets.  This one really caught my eye because it is made with the new Gift Card Enclosure Packs.  These are inexpensive kraft pre-cut, pre-scored gift card enclosures ($5.95 for 10).  The cards are made with Note Cards, another favorite of mine because the size is easier to work with and it comes in a great Note Card and Envelope pack ($5.95 for 20).....So essentially I can easily make sets of 4 cards of these for only 1 pack of eacIh and with materials left over.  Ohhhh, and I love the glimmer paper.  I never thought I liked gold, but isn't it pretty!?!

So tonight I pulled out my Amazing Birthday set to see what else I could create.  I decided I wanted to make a Quick and Cute 3x3 card, using the Sweet Taffy DSP.  So here it is.....

Teacher Appreciation Gifts

 

We love our teachers!  I truly appreciate the work they do and the dedication they put into our kids.  Here is my part 1 appreciation for our teachers this year.  I like to give something handmade first, because that is what I love to do....then later in the week I'll give something else (not handmade!) lol In past years I made things with a teaching theme.  This year, I loved this flower and colors that I chose a summer/springy theme instead.

 

This kit includes a notepad, card set, and a lollipop favor all wrapped up in cello bags.

Sooooo....it is my BIRTHDAY today!!  Woohoo!! Okay, actually not so exciting to get older, but another year is always something to be grateful for and celebrate. 

 

Above one of the cards I received today in the "mail"....yes, USPS mail!  I love getting fun mail.  LOVE it, LOVE it!  I think that it is the little things like opening up a card that bring joy (especially when you are going through bills normally!).  So naturally, I was excited to open this one up from my stampin' friend Jamie Garrett.  I love that she included a book mark in my card.  I will totally CASE that idea.  Thanks, Jamie!!

Alisha, dropped this card, card set and cute little notebook for me on my doorstep.  She is super sweet and constantly does little surprises like this.  The first one is a card using Another Great Year, the second set included all of the cards in the adorable box, and the last one was a notebook made using a clear stamp case that Stampin' Up! sells.  I love these notebooks, because they are cute and I can toss them in my purse and the clear case protects it.  Thanks, Alisha!!

Green House Gala Cards and Totes

I love giving cards as gifts.  I especially love to give them in a pretty, matching container.  This is a set I made for my last Stamp Club group.  I used Baja Breeze cardstock to coordinate with the DSP and the matching Ornate Blossom single stamp for the large stamp. 

For the tote, I got the original idea from Rochelle Wick.  Click here for the instructions.  This tote is so simple to make and holds 8-10 cards and envelopes.  I made my gift set with 4 cards and envelopes and they fit nice perfectly.

Card Portfolio & Step by Step Tutorial

As promised here is the tutorial to the card portfolio I had posted on an earlier post this month. I have included some instructions. I can email you the step by step instructions (with color photos!) if you contact me. This is a super easy to make gift idea. I have made it several times and people always love it.

Supplies Needed:

• Crumb Cake CS
  


• Elegant Soiree DSP



• Very Vanilla 1/4 grosgrain ribbon



• Perfect Punches stamp set
  


• Scallop Oval Punch



• Soft Suede Classic Stampin' pad



• Sticky Strip
  

Directions:

1. Score your 8 1/2 x 11 piece of CS at 5 1/2 on the long, 11 inch side.



2. Score your CS at 2 1/4 on the short, 8 1/2 side.



3. Fold your CS on the 5 1/2 scored line. Cut a small diagonal piece from the bottom to the 2 1/4 line as shown.



4. Open your CS and put sticky strip on the two areas shown below.




5. Insert your cards and envelopes (four cards on one side and four envelopes on the other side).




6. Close your portfolio and embellish. I glued ribbon around the portfolio and then added a 5 1/4 x 6 1/4 piece of DSP on the portfolio and embellished.

Stampin' with Friends...what it is all about

A couple weeks ago I went over my friend Jamie's house for a night of stamping. In just a couple hours we had great conversations, great laughs, and made lots of cute projects. She prepped a few projects for us and I did too. It was such a treat for me to stamp just for fun and to have some of the projects prepped for me. Now I really understand why you love coming to classes! I had a great time and can't wait to do it again.

The above and below picture show the gift she gave me for helping her with a scrapbook show. Isn't it adorable! It is a card kit with 4 cards and envelopes inside. I love the colors she used and the Aviary stamp set she used. I make cards just about every day, but I still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to get stamped gifts!

Here is one of the projects I prepped. The card below uses a Level 2 stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. If you host a workshop, this is one of the sets you could be eligible for. Let me know if you want to hear more about hosting a workshop.

The next card is a great, non traditional Christmas card. I have got to admit, when I seen this set in the catalog, Greeting Card Kids, it did not grab my attention. Now after using it in this card and seeing all of the amazing samples online I love it!

The above card is a nice Fall card with lots of great fall colors. This card was made with the Paisely Prints stamp set.

Lastly, here is another card and holder we made. This owl was made with the newish SU Owl punch. I was not a big fan of Owls, but of course, now I love them.

That is all for tonight. I can honestly say the best thing about my stamping hobby and business is getting together with friends while making beautiful handmade cards and gifts. That is the best part of being a demo. I never imagined doing stamp classes and clubs, but once I did my first one and had so much fun I was hooked.

Okay, enough with the sentimental stuff. I have to get back to preparing for my Stamp a Stack class tommorrow.
