Amazing Birthday x 2

 

Hello Everyone,

 

Here is one of the Make & Takes we made during Convention.  I was really excited about this project because I love card sets....and love to give card sets.  This one really caught my eye because it is made with the new Gift Card Enclosure Packs.  These are inexpensive kraft pre-cut, pre-scored gift card enclosures ($5.95 for 10).  The cards are made with Note Cards, another favorite of mine because the size is easier to work with and it comes in a great Note Card and Envelope pack ($5.95 for 20).....So essentially I can easily make sets of 4 cards of these for only 1 pack of eacIh and with materials left over.  Ohhhh, and I love the glimmer paper.  I never thought I liked gold, but isn't it pretty!?!

So tonight I pulled out my Amazing Birthday set to see what else I could create.  I decided I wanted to make a Quick and Cute 3x3 card, using the Sweet Taffy DSP.  So here it is.....

Stampin' Up! Convention 2014: Final Wrap Up

Hello All!

Well we are at Saturday's wrap up, which is the last day :(  I had a blast.  On this final day we had more great demonstrations and classes....to say the least.  Another highlight for me was the opportunity to view Holiday Catalog products and purchase some.  If you know me you know that I love the holidays!  I start thinking about them in the Summer and love planning and making projects for the holidays for months.  So this was a great thrill for me. 

Here is today's slideshow.  It features some new Holiday Catalog items, samples, etc.  After you view the slideshow you will be dying to have some.  So, contact me to set up your Party so you can get some make a dent off of your wish list (I know it will be a mile long like mine).  Or, you can schedule a private class with me for you and a few friends and we can make your favorite holiday projects....with me doing all of the prep work!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2014: Friday Wrap Up

Hello All!

I'm back with another Convention Wrap Up.  Do you like reading these or seeing the slideshows? 

So, Friday was another great day with lots of great demonstrations, many business themed workshops and more make and takes.  One cool project idea I learned was how to make gooey dots/embellishments (below). 

 

To make them you just dab some ink from a Blendabilities Marker on a silicone sheet, add some hot glue (from a high melt glue gun), let dry and voila!  Awesome right?!  I will do a video of this at a later time...once I check to make sure I have the right hot glue gun.

 

After the regular Convention Day, was Awards Night.  It is always great to see the top demonstrators and get inspired by their achievements.  There was also an after party, with yummy treats.  I had to leave a little abruptly because I got a call my little one was sick with a stomach bug.  Luckily she got better after a good night's sleep....but it scared me.  Having sick kids in a far away place is never good, but I am glad someone was watching over us ;)

Stampin' Up! Convention 2014: Thursday Wrap Up

Hello All,

Thursday was our first full day at Convention.  We entered the big conference room with all of SU staff greeting and cheering for us.  They kicked off the event with an all attendee prize patrol....that was great!  It's nice to get a free prize right from the start.  I got the stamp. Shelli Gardner continued the opening session and ended with a chat with Becky Higgins, creator of Project Life and new partner of Stampin' Up! (with the Project Life by Stampin' Up! line).

Here are a few tips I learned about taking pictures with your cell phone:

• Check lighting.  Sometimes moving just a little makes a difference.
• Get closer.
• Don't use the zoom. 
• Keep still

These tips sound simple, but I think I now understand that my pictures were always fuzzy because I would zoom often.

The rest of the day was filled with some workshops, which I love because we get great ideas from them.  We also had some make and takes, however, I took the wrong packet so I just had to improvise with another project! In the evening I took a bonus class using a kit from the upcoming Holiday Catalog. It was making projects with watercoloring.  I had never watercolored so it was something new (pictures to come on this).

If I haven't mentioned it yet (okay I have!), I love Project Life by Stampin' Up!  It is really easy to use and yet still creates amazingly pretty pages.  It is the busy mom, or busy person's solution to memory keeping.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Convention 2014 Wrap Up: Wednesday Night

Well it came and went super fast... Inspire. Create. Share (aka Convention 2014).  It was such a fun 3 1/2 days...as always there were many wonderful display boards, great demonstrations, and fun make and takes.  Here is a quick wrap up on the weeks events:

Wednesday Night:
I arrived in SLC at 4pm on Wednesday.  The first event was a Paper Pumpkin night out at 6 this evening.  I forgot about the time change in Utah, so we arrived an hour later that I expected.  After a run to the hotel to change and get a bite to eat I was off.  It was a fun casual event with a sneak peak make and take :

This project was part of an upcoming kit that is Halloween themed kit.  It includes several of these bags to make and an 8 piece (I believe) stamp set.  The stamps alone are worth the price of the kit ($20 in case you were wondering:).  I CAN'T WAIT to get it in the mail.  There is nothing better than getting the cute little red box in the mail and running inside to open it to find out what is inside. 

After the make and take we took pictures and had way too many desserts.
