25 Days (should be called 12 days) #12

Wow! The month flew by and it is almost 2015! I attempted to post holiday projects for 25 days and well.... I failed! Sorry! I don't think I took into account how busy the holidays get! I also have been helping my neice with her wedding and that takes lots of time too (I'll post those later). 

So here is my final post in the series courtesy of Stampin Up! One thing we did not do this year are gingerbread houses (edible or otherwise). However I am saving this project for next year.

Cute and Simple Card and Tag

If you are visiting my blog for the first time...WELCOME! 

I held a workshop at a friend's house this weekend and had a great time meeting lots of new people.  A few of them were new to stamping and seemed to have a great time.  I realize that new stampers sometimes get overwhelmed by all of the wonderful products that Stampin' Up! offers and it seems like a lot to take in at once...believe me I understand!  I try to make some cards and projects with you in mind to help you do some beginner projects, that are simple and beautiful to make.

So after my daughter's school pick up a couple people mentioned that they wanted to make tags.  Do, I brainstormed Christmas tags and came up with a simple tag (to right) and a matching card (on left) that anyone can make.  You need a few basic supplies for these projects. 

Here is the recipe:

Well, I'm not sure if I have been on track with the days, but I hope you have enjoyed seeing WAY more projects than I normally post.  I have! 

I CASED this from several people, I can't remember who the original person was or if I even seen the original one....but I loved it!  It's a card and a holder.  On the outside it looks like a coffee cup and on the inside you can add a little coffee treat (I added Starbucks Vias) or a gift card!  If you have coffee lovers in your life I think this one is great.

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 4

Happy Saturday!

Here is an easy gift project you can make quickly and in large amounts.  It's called a sour cream container (I think!).  I used a 4.5x6 piece of DSP, put sticky strip to make a cylindar in the long side.  Then, I pinched the top, added a strip of sticky tape to close it.  Then pinched the opposite angle on the bottom and closed it with sticky strip. I am not sure if that makes sense, but try it with scratch paper and you'll see it's easy.  Tip:  make sure you use sticky tape and not snail.  Snail is not strong enough for rounded or 3-d projects.

The inside is filled with 8 hershey kisses.   I think I am going to take my leftover DSP from the Festival of Prints paper stack and make a bunch of these for coworkers and school staff.  The stamps are from the hostess set Mixed Medley, but you can substitute it with any festive stamp.

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 3

Hello!

It's day 3!  This one is a direct case from the Holiday Catalog, page 9.  I used Frosty Friends for the stamp and colored in the image with some Stampin' Markers.  I added some extras like embossing and a border for extra texture.  One trick I used on this card was the rounded edge of the whisper white.  I just used a plate to trace and cut the round edge as curvy as I wanted.  No tools, just some tracing!

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 2

 

Like a lot of you, I loved the ornament on the cover of the Stampin' Up! Holiday the minute I seen it.  I knew I would be making at least one!  I did an easier version.  Instead of stamping then die cutting the ornaments, I cut the ornaments from DSP.  It was actually a lot easier than it looked.

Twelve Days of Christmas: Day 1

So today is 12/12/12 and something big is supposed to happen, right?!  Well, I am not sure if I believe in that, but I thought it would be fun to do something in honor of 12/12/12 and I came up with my very first:  Twelve Days of Christmas.  So for 12 days I will post some sort of Christmas project for you on this blog.  What do you think?!  May of my favorite blogs do things like this so I thought I would try it this year.  So for those who have not finished your Christmas projects, I hope to spark a little creativity in you to create fun Christmas projects. 

Here is my Day 1 project.  I took the Festival of Prints DSP Stack and cut strips of DSP in 1/2 wide strips and cut different sizes to form a tree.  I also rounded the corners.  You can round corners with a corner rounder punch (retired) or a circle punch (just put in your corner from the top, one sheet at a time).  If you don't have a star punch, do it the old fashion way by tracing a star (you can find one in clip art in word or MDS) and cut it out :)  This was super easy to do and with the right stamp it finished off my quick and easy card.

Peace on Earth

This is one of the cards we made at last nights stamp club. The white embossed card really matched up well with the dark and sparkly snowflake. It was really simple to make.

Christmas in July Swap

I just finished a Christmas in July swap and OMG! I am so excited about all the great swaps I received. I'll showcase my favorites on a different post but here they are!

Teacher Goodie Boxes for Christmas

These little boxes were demonstrated at Convention this summer. I fell in love with them and knew I has to make some. Here is my last batch of these. I think I made at least 12 if these this season. I think they end up looking adorable and they are fairly easy to make.

Day 1 SU Convention Highlights

So this is my new BFF Shelli!  LOL.  Yes, I was a total groupie today and jumped at the opportunity to take a picture with Stampin' Up's Co-Founder/CEO.  And, YES I even got her autograph.  I tried to act cool like she was any other person but she's not.  She is the genius that created SU and I think she is adorable.  Last year I missed this opportunity so when I seen her posing I dropped my lunch and power walked over there.  LOL

Okay, so that was super fun but there were a lot of fun things today.  First, I got my free stuff:
