Technique of the Week- Watercoloring

Watercoloring

Give your cards a watercolor look using line stamps and watercolors:

Here is how to do it:
A] Dip the tip of a blender pen on to the corner of a Stampin' Pastel, then apply to the stamped image.
OR
B] Brush the tip of a blender pen, Aqua Painter, or wet watercolor brush directly on the tip of a Watercolor Wonder crayon, then apply color to the stamped image.
OR
C] Outline a section of the stamped image with a Watercolor Wonder Crayon or Watercolor Pencil, then use a blender pen, Aqua Painter, or wet watercolor brush to pull color where desired.
OR
D] Press the closed lid of a Classic Stampin' Pad down against the ink pad, creating a small pool of color in the lid; then open the lid. Use a blender pen, an Aqua Painter, or a damp watercolor brush to lift the ink from the lid and apply to the stamped image.

Technique Tuesday: Stampin with bleach

Today's Technique: Stampin with Bleach.

I bet you didn't know that you could use household items to stamp with! It is pretty simple, just be careful not to get it on your clothes and/or furniture.

Here is how you do it:

1. Make an "ink pad" with bleach. On a plate, put a folded paper towel wet (damp, not drenched) with bleach.
2. "Ink" your stamp on the bleach pad and stamp on your SU paper. I tested it on generic paper and it did not work.
3. Allow a minute or two for drying.
4. Embellish your card as you would like.

Here is what the bleach stamped paper looks like up close. Above you can see my finished stamp. This technique works best with darker paper.

Technique Tuesday: Stampin' Pastels

Today's Technique is Stampin' Pastels.

You simply use the applicator to color in your stamped image and viola- you have color on your image. These can be used with line stamps, with VersaMark Ink, and blender pens. It gives the image a watercolor like look. In this card I used the Fun & Easy Notes Stamp Set for the cake stamp and a retired set for the congratulations.

Technique Tuesday: Stamped Candles

I'm back! The last two weeks I was super busy getting ready for a class and craft booth that I had this past weekend. So...I have lots to post for you this week.





Today, I am going to teach you how to do stamped candles like the one in the picture.

Here is what you will need:

• Candle
• Wax Paper
• Tissue Paper
• Stamps
• Ink
• Heat Tool

Here are the steps:

1. Stamp your image on the tissue paper.
2. Cut out the image as close to the tissue paper as possible.
3. Cut a piece of wax paper long enough so that wrap it around the candle and have plenty of excess in the back for you to grab on to. Make sure your wax paper width is not taller than your candle.
4. Place the stamped tissue on the candle and tightly wrap the wax paper over it. Make sure your hands are on the back of the candle holding the wax paper.
5. Then, with the heat tool, heat the area on the candle that has the stamped image on it until you see tissue paper disappear and you can easily peal away the wax paper.
6. Repeat, to add more images if you desire.
7. Wrap in cello and add a ribbon for an extra professional look.

Technique Tuesday: Wet Embossing

Good Morning Stampers! Today I am going to teach you about wet embossing. It actually is quite simple. First, what is wet embossing. Here is a picture of a card I did using wet embossing on the dots on the cupcake top.

As you can see (hopefully) the dots on the cupcake have a white glazed look. It gives the image a little dimension and adds a little extra something to the card.

First of all you need:

• VersaMark Ink


• Embossing powder in color of your choice (I used white)


• Stamps


• Heat Tool


• **Optional: Embossing Buddy (to reduce static on paper), Powder Pals (for easier clean up)

Here is how I did it.

1) Stamp your image using the VersaMark Ink.

2) Generously pour the embossing powder over the stamped image

3) Shake off the excess embossing powder (this is where you would use the powder pals).

4) Heat the image with the heat tool until the image is glossy looking.

5) Let it dry for a couple of minutes.

Technique Tuesday: How to Create a Clean Bouquet

Welcome to Technique Tuesday!

I am starting a new feature on my blog this week. Every Tuesday I will be featuring a new stamping or scrapping technique. I will give you step by step instructions (maybe even videos, if I can figure that out) so that you can try it yourself.

Today I will show you how to create a clean bouquet with your flower, balloon or other stamps.

INSTRUCTIONS: Simply stamp your center flower first, once on your project, then on scratch paper. Cut out the scratch paper flower and adhere it over your project flower (make sure to match it exactly) using Dotto (so it will come off again easily). Then stamp your surrounding flowers, overlaying your images onto the scratch paper. Remove the scratch paper and you will have a perfect bouquet.

Easy right! Tommorrow I will try this with a birthday balloon card.
